We have established a very varied portfolio of Participatory Approaches that actively stimulates people from different sectors & different backgrounds to work together & enables us to feed the outcome into the research process. During these last 5 years we have extended our expertise in map making to include Public Participatory GIS in our portfolio.
With this exciting new crowdsourcing approach we are capturing several viewpoints and encouraging participants to think spatially. We are building a new bottom up approach that is giving rise to a new type of governance. We are empowering the people we are working with, giving them a sense of ownership and responsibility towards their resources (whether water or the land they live on) and we are in the meantime building trust and enabling a process of social learning... next
